I am an advocate of custom roles in this field, because each role is so specific that it ends up to be the same but not really the same — just like you frame so we’ll in this story. I, for example, started to self entitle as UX Engineer, although my formal roles have been defined as Developer. The truth is that I am always the user advocate inside the dev team, and since I’ve been working in small companies, which don’t have a design team, I often assume responsabilities that usually would belong to UX/UI Designers.
